What is a MSN Messenger Icon?

A MSN Messenger Icon is a personal display picture for MSN Messenger 6 (msn 6.0, msn 6.1 or higher) and are 99x99 pixels in size. These display pictures can be found in the top-right corner(the display picture from your chat buddy) and in the bottom-right corner(your own display picture) in your chat . • How to set a icon as my display picture?
  • Save(right click and "save image as") a icon to your computer
  • Open a chat in MSN Messenger
  • Click on the arrow near your actual display picture(below)
  • Click on "Change Display Picture"
  • Click "Browse" in the window that pops up
  • Select the icon you just saved to your computer
  • Click "OK"
  • Than Click "OK" again
  • Now the icon you just downloaded is saved as your display picture

What is a MSN Messenger Emoticon?

MSN Messenger Emoticons are little 19x19 pixel pictures to express your emotions or actions with while you are chatting in a messenger. If you are looking for cool emoticons, take a look at the Emoticons section

• How to add a emoticon to MSN Messenger?
  • Save(right click and "save image as") a emoticon of your choice to your computer
  • Open a chat in MSN Messenger
  • Click on the smiley(below) and click "My emoticons"
  • Click "Add"
  • Click "Find Image"
  • Select the emoticon that you saved to your computer
  • Add a keyboard shortcut
  • If you like you can add a name too, this is not needed
  • Now you can use the emoticon with chatting by typing the keyboard shortcut
